Upgrade notice
Cd Scan has had three major format changes since v1.00, the first from 1.xx to
2.xx, then from 2.xx to 4.xx and now from 4.xx to 5.xx. I apologise for any
inconvenience but in order for expansion, these modifications needed to take
place. I have included all utilities for your convenience but stress that you
need not read any further if you have not created a catalogue with a previous
version of the program.
Firstly, copy the upgrade utilities, upgrade2.exe, upgrade4.exe and
upgrade5.exe in to your cd-scan directory.
If you are upgrading from 1.xx to 5.xx, this must be done in three stages,
firstly type the command upgrade2, to upgrade from v1.xx to v2.xx then see
below.
once you have a v2.xx or v3.xx set of data files, you must then upgrade to
v4.xx by typing upgrade4.
Once you have a v4.xx set of data files, type upgrade5 to upgrade to the
latest version. If you have lyrics files, you may link these so that they are
appropriately indicated onscreen by running Cd Scan and optimising your data
files. You will be asked if you wish to update links to lyrics files during
optimisation. Reply yes if this is the case.
Modification to the data format was necessary to efficiently keep track of
which tracks had lyrics files. The latest set of data files will be named
cds5.dat and cds5ndx.dat. Once you have run Cd Scan and ascertained that the
upgrade was successful, you may delete all other files with a DAT extension in
your Cd Scan directory.
Again I apologise for any inconvenience.
